It's Sunday and where I live, you can find long lines at various restaurants in the city - for brunch. Chicago is a Sunday brunch kind of town where folks get up early and hit the latest and greatest of brunch hotspots to beat the lines. But for me, on a Sunday morning, I would rather stay at home in my pajamas, coffee mug in one hand and flipping through a cookbook or food magazine. (Although, I can't say I've really had the luxury of enjoying this lately on a Sunday or any day...). Do you remember that saying, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?" Well that's what I did. Kinda.
Instead of getting up early and beating those unnecessary long lines for brunch, I had friends join me in the kitchen to cook brunch with me. Part cooking class, party cooking party, we all enjoyed learning and preparing some new recipes, sharing some kitchen tips and tricks and enjoying a wonderful brunch overlooking the city and Lake Michigan. This was best way to enjoy brunch with friends, in my opinion! Here's the menu we all helped to prepare along with links to the recipes...
