This week's Tuesdays With Dorie baking challenge is Dorie's Chocolate Souffle, chosen by Susan of She’s Becoming DoughMessTic (who has the recipe within her blog). I enjoyed making this recipe with friends and we all agreed that making a souffle isn't as hard or intimidating as we thought when it was all said and done.

With only 4 common ingredients involved (chocolate, sugar, milk and eggs), this recipe was much easier than we anticipated. To start, chocolate and sugar are placed in a bowl, then over a saucepan of simmering water. The chocolate starts to melt and once it's completely melted, it's taken off the saucepan and milk is whisked in. The chocolate cools a bit before egg yolks are added in.
At this point, the souffle baked for about 45 minutes in a preheated oven and we waited. My friends and I were in awe with how little ingredients were used and how easy it was to make than we were so anxious for the souffle to come out. Soon enough, it was ready...
It came out beautifully with it's slightly cracked top, but it was nothing a little powdered sugar couldn't fix! We loved how moist and airy the souffle came out, not to mention perfectly chocolatey. I will most definitely be making this again in smaller, individual servings for an upcoming dinner party!
Be sure to check out how this chocolate souffle came out for fellow Tuesdays With Dorie bakers! Next week's challenge will be Dorie's Flaky Apple turnovers, so stay tuned...
