Peanut butter blossoms

The following cookie recipe was made and shared at my 2007 Holiday Cookie Swap. You can read about it and get other cookie recipes from the event HERE.

Peanut butter blossoms

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup JIF Peanut Butter
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 ½ cups sifted AP Flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 (11 ounce) bag Hershey kisses Preheat oven to 375
Cream together granulated sugar, brown sugar, shortening and peanut butter. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
Stir together flour, baking soda and salt; add to peanut butter mixture. Beat well. Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Press hersheys kiss into center of each cookie. Allow to cool.
Makes 6-7 dozen cookies
