We're starting a new week and to kick things off, I've partnered up with Kahlúa to highlight some delicious ways to incorporate the number one selling rum and coffee liquor. So in the following weeks, I'll be sharing ways to serve Kahlúa since it's one of my favorite liquors to concoct some drinks and recipes with. This time, it's part cocktail, part dessert. It's been a fairly warm October for Chicago this year and the weather had me reaching for ice cream. Although most would associate Kahlua with cocktail drinks, it can easily be incorporated with ice cream for a delicious milkshake! This Kahlúa Spotted Cow Milkshake combines Kahlua and club soda along with scoops of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, that's topped with a healthy mound of whipped cream and some chocolate syrup for good measure.
What I really like about this drink is that it makes me feel like a kid if drinking it through a straw, but clearly it's one made for adults. Kahlua is so versatile in that it mixes well with club soda in this recipe... however if you want to play with the recipe even further, try using your favorite carbonated beverage. With so many different soda flavors and even ice cream flavors, the sky's the limit in making a combination truly your own. By adding Kahlua, which is especially good with chocolate and vanilla, you've elevated a classic drink of years ago to something that's modern and fun today.
