Memorial Day weekend wouldn't be properly celebrated without some ribs! Although enjoyed a day after the holiday, it was a delicious dinner nonetheless. These Chili Rubbed Pork Spareribs were especially tasty because the flavor all came from my spice drawer. By making a homemade chili seasoning rub using the spices I had on hand, various meats take on some great flavor perfect for grilling...
One easy freezer meal is to season various cuts of meat with a flavorful spice rub and freeze. These ribs are no exception since I used some pretty common spices to create a rub for the pork spareribs I had. Simply combine the spices, coat the ribs with the spice mixture and let the ribs absorb the flavors while it cooks on low heat for a few hours. I did make a few substitutions from the original recipe where I used garlic and onion powder instead of dried minced garlic and onion. I also omitted dried parsley and basil also called for in the original recipe. These substitutions and changes suited my tastes more but feel free to check out the original recipe or use this one as a guide to come up with your own spice blend to use!
