Microsoft’s Zune player is no More

zune-review-zune-logoThey announce it again. Last week, Microsoft put up a support page announcing that it would no longer build or sell Zune hardware, they decided instead to focus on Zune software for Windows Phone and other platforms. Windows Phone will be the focus of our mobile music and video strategy, and that we will no longer be producing Zune players,” the company said in a statement on the Zune website.

Shortly after the page went live, Microsoft said it was a mistake and pulled the note. Now, the page is live again and Zune devices are dead again. You can read it here Zune Website for the details — We assume that this time it’s permanent and the Zune Player is really dead as in dead and will not rise again. Too Bad we barely know this media player that supposed to be the rival of the Apple iPod.

Zune HD Player is still available when you visit Zune.Net, when you click the buy now button you will be redirected to Walmart. They have a huge cut of the price from $279 to $159 in US Dollars of course.

I believe they never market this great device outside US, too bad it could had a good share of the market in the media players if they just market it worldwide.
