I have a friend that ask me for help regarding his laptop, his problem he change the password on his Windows machine and forgot what was the password. He said he have some important files that he needed to get from there, That’s the reason he cannot format this machine. I was challenge with this problem and volunteer to help on this matter.
So the problem was the Administrator account cannot be access too because she forgot the password also and it was lock because of numerous attempt to login. he also needed to get some important documents and some other files. There are many tools out there that you can find to solution this problem as always you can search it at your friendly Google.
Here’s I did recover and Reset the Password:
I use this tool Offline Windows Password & Registry Editor, its easy to use and support Windows XP up to Windows 7. Now on its FREE but its easy to use and the file is a mere 3mb file.
Now to get going. I suggest you download the file for CD Bootable. Why because its more easier to create all you have to do is a black CD and burn the ISO file to it. But you can also use the USB Bootable Flash Drive if you don’t have a CD writer.
Once you have burn the ISO file to your CD, it’s time to boot from it. You should be presented with the same screen an the image below.
Now choose the the number that corresponds to the partition with BOOT, that is if you have more than 1 partition. It’s usually the number 1, so go ahead and press 1
Next type in WINDOWS/System32/config and press ENTER key.
Then select the option where you can Unlock the admin account, after you have done this you can now proceed to change or better yet leave the password on the admin account.
Once your done with this, you can not re-boot your pc and try the admin account and login to your pc.
